TOP Eurocrat Herman Van Rompuy has claimed British attempts to loosen ties with Brussels could “unravel” the entire European Union.
In a scathing attack, the EU Council President accused David Cameron and Euro-sceptic Tories of wanting to “cherry pick” the benefits of EU membership and discard the rest.
Pleading with the UK not to quit, he said a British exit would “see a friend walk off into the desert”.
Mr Van Rompuy’s outburst, in an interview to mark the 40th anniversary of the UK joining the European Economic Community, was seen as a sign of growing frustration with Britain in Brussels .... http://www.express.co.uk
