Blind Paralympian becomes real-life bionic man after receiving incredible new implant to restore his sight

A blind Paralympian has become a real-life bionic man after being fitted with a ground-breaking eye implant to partially restore his sight.
Gold medallist Tim Reddish, from Nottingham, had a ten-hour operation to fit the 3mm microchip at the rear of his eyeball. He can now see light and shapes.

The 55-year-old, who has won more than 40 medals for his country, likened the moment his electronic chip was turned on to 'a match being lit up in the dark'.

'It's unbelievable, the chip is changing my life,' he said .... http://www.dailymail.co.uk
