Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has become a de facto National Police Force

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has become a de facto National Police Force. They are enforcing petty vice laws including chasing down prostitutes.

DHS was involved in the arrest of a massage parlor operator who was suspected of giving voluntary services to clients who wanted those services, a completely victimless crime.

The reporter relays the police's message: "Homeland Security's presence shouldn't make people think that there is a threat of terrorism involved here." Because clearly, DHS is now into all sorts of other things that they should have no jurisdiction over.
