Arizona lawmaker wants to triple federal money for Israel’s Iron Dome, bring missile defense production to U.S


An Arizona congressman wants the U.S. to triple its funding for Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense program and hopes to see some of the manufacturing occur in Arizona.

U.S. Rep. Ron Barber, D-Ariz., is part of a congressional delegation currently in Israel. Barber serves on the House Armed Services Committee.

Barber said in a telephone interview with the Phoenix Business Journal that he would like to see annual U.S. funding for Iron Dome systems go from its current $70 million level up to $220 million. The Pentagon also favors the spending increase, which is being considered by Congress .... http://www.bizjournals.com
