St. Cloud declares snow emergency, blowing snow could be next


St. Cloud has declared a snow emergency after an overnight snowstorm dumped as much as 6 inches on parts of St. Cloud and the surrounding areas.

The emergency will be in effect for the next 72 hours unless its rescinded due to favorable weather conditions.

During a snow emergency, vehicles parked in violation of the city’s winter parking rules can be towed immediately.

Saturday’s snow total broke the Jan. 18 record for snowfall, according to St. Cloud State University meteorology professor Bob Weisman .... http://www.sctimes.com
