TEPCO to pump out radioactive water from tunnels under Fukushima plant
TEPCO, the operator of the Japanese tsunami-crippled Fukushima NPP, plans to start cleaning the underground tunnels believed to be part of the sources of radioactive materials poisoning the underground water in the area.
According to the NHK TV network, the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) will first block the flow of tainted water between the damaged buildings and the tunnels. In January workers will begin to bury pipes in the ground and in April they will start to drain the contaminated water from the tunnels .... http://voiceofrussia.com
