US Congress pushes Venezuela sanctions


A bill is advancing in the US Congress to impose sanctions on Venezuela over its handling of the ongoing anti-government protests.

The House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee has recommended ratification of the legislation, which now goes to the full chamber for consideration, The Associated Press reported.

The “Venezuelan Human Rights and Democracy Protection Act” asks the Obama administration to ban visas and freeze the assets of Venezuelan officials for their alleged human rights violations during anti-government demonstrations .... http://www.presstv.ir
