Ties could be cut with Brussels after majority of MPs now BACK EU referendum

Research found that a total of 345 out of the 650 MPs in the Commons have indicated their support for a poll on the UK’s membership of the EU either as soon as possible or within the next few years.

The list of referendum supporters included MPs from the Tory, Labour and Ulster’s Democratic Unionist parties and a lone Lib Dem. New UK Independence Party MP Douglas Carswell, Green MP Caroline Lucas and George Galloway, of the Left-wing grouping Respect, were also on the list.

This is a huge step forward for our EU referendum campaign, but winning the argument among a majority of MPs is only half the battle. Turning that support into legislation is as big a challenge .... http://www.express.co.uk
