
A Japanese systems engineer using a homemade computer has doubled his own world record for calculating the value of pi, crunching the mathematical constant to 10 trillion digits, according to news reports.
Just 14 months after hitting 5 trillion digits, Shigeru Kondo, 56, bested his record Sunday, Kyodo News said in a report picked up by other outlets, including The Telegraph. He began his quest last October.
