Record Numbers of US Military and Veteran Suicides



Suicides Outpace War Deaths. The VA’s 2012 Suicide Data Report said about 22 vets commit suicide daily. The VA’s own suicide hotline averages 10,000 calls a month.

Epidemic post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) levels affect hundreds of thousands of combat forces and vets. The VA estimates over 30% of Vietnam vets, around 10% of Gulf War forces, and up to 20% of America’s Afghanistan and Iraq troops have PTSD.
