DES MOINES, Iowa —It's official -- at 12:17 today KCCI Meteorologist Metinka Slater used the word "snow" when talking about the Friday forecast.

A system pushing across southern Minnesota on Friday will dip down into Iowa bringing a chance for snowflakes to the northern counties.
