Tesco chairman to stand down as supermarket chain reveals profits have fallen by staggering 91% in the last six months

Tesco chairman Sir Richard Broadbent said today he was preparing to step down over the supermarket's troubles. The alarming interim figures came days after latest industry data showed Tesco's sales falling at the fastest rate in the sector.
