Walmart profits are $17.20 billion/year, avoiding paying U.S. taxes on $21.4 billion in offshore profits, while their employees receive $2.66 billion/year in government assistance

Wal-Mart has 2.2 million employees, including 1.3 million hourly workers. It employs 1.2 million people in the U.S. alone. Gross revenue is $475 billion, generating profits of $17.20 billion. It dominates the discount retail space, and according toBloomberg, has a 66.70 percent market share.

Wal-Mart’s low wages have led to full-time employees seeking public assistance. These are not the 47 percent, lazy, unmotivated bums. Rather, these are people working physical, often difficult jobs.
