Europe-wide road tolls: Outrage as Brussels plans to slap MORE tolls on our roads

European Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc wants a standardised driving tax across all EU member states. Vehicle owners would be charged for every mile driven under a high-tech scheme based on satellite-tracking systems.

All the cash would go directly to Brussels before being shared out to national governments to spend on maintaining transport networks.

But the proposal triggered fury from motoring organisations and anti-Brussels campaigners.
