Merkel warns EU won’t lift Russia sanctions ‘until Minsk peace deal met’

The EU will not lift sanctions on Russia imposed over the Ukraine crisis until the conditions of the Minsk ceasefire deal between Kiev and self-defense forces have been met, Reuters quoted German Chancellor Angela Merkel as saying on Thursday. “We cannot and will not lift the sanctions that expire in July or September until the demands of the Minsk agreement have been fulfilled. That would be wrong,” she told the Bundestag, the lower house of parliament. The statement came ahead of a summit of EU leaders as they are expected to discuss the issue in Brussels .... http://rt.com
