US Paratroopers to Start Training Ukrainian National Guard In April

The Pentagon will deploy about 300 United States Army paratroopers to Western Ukraine next month to train six Ukrainian National Guard companies and a headquarters team, the Pentagon announced.
US soldiers from the 173rd Airborne Brigade, based in Vincenza, Italy, will travel to the Yavoriv training center in western Ukraine, near the border with Poland, sometime in late April. Training will focus on "internal defense capabilities,” Pentagon spokeswoman Eileen Lainez said.
