MH370 Search Ship Fugro Discovery Ends Mission Without Success
One of the three ships searching the depths of the Indian Ocean for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 will end its mission Thursday, authorities said.
The Fugro Discovery will leave the remote search zone ahead of the anticipated suspension of efforts to locate the wreckage of the missing Boeing 777.
The Joint Agency Co-ordination Centre (JACC) said in an operational update Wednesday that the contracted vessel will "transit to Singapore to be readied for its next project, unrelated to the search for MH370." .... http://www.nbcnews.com

Real-time trackers aim to avoid repeat of MH370 mystery
(AFP) - Two years on from the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, the UN's aviation agency announced new requirements in a bid to avoid a repeat of a mystery that has perplexed investigators.
The jet vanished on March 8, 2014 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 passengers and crew onboard, mostly Chinese and Malaysians, leaving distraught relatives still grasping for answers.
On the somber anniversary, the council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal on Tuesday adopted new measures that require aircraft to have tracking devices that can transmit location information at least once a minute when in trouble, effectively providing real-time updates .... http://news.yahoo.com

MH370 pilot mysteriously resurfaces almost 2 years after his flight vanished
Taipei| The pilot of the infamous flight MH370 of Malaysia Airlines that disappeared in March 2013, Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, has mysteriously reappeared in a Taiwan hospital on Monday, suffering from severe dehydration and some type of amnesia.
The 53-year-old pilot was transported at the Taipei Adventist Hospital by a couple of villagers from a nearby town. They claimed to have found the man while he was lying unconscious on the banks of the Tangshui River.
He finally woke up almost 16 hours after arriving at the hospital, but couldn’t remember his name or how he arrived in Taipei. He was rapidly identified, however, thanks to his fingerprints, instantly attracting a lot of attention from the media and from various Asian governments.
The doctors who have been treating since his arrival believe that he may be suffering from regressive amnesia, caused by a major stress or life-threatening situation .... http://worldnewsdailyreport.com

Saudi Royal Family Gave $681Million to Malaysian PM Who Banned Shia Islam
On Wednesday last week the Malaysia’s attorney general confirmed that Saudi Arabia’s royal family gave Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak a $681 million personal gift.
The confirmation of the scandal ended months of speculation about the source of the huge personal donation received from ‘a middle eastern donor’ by the Prime Minister. Why did the Saudi royals give Malaysia Prime Minister $681 million?
The Saudi royal family was the source of a $681mn "donation" that has engulfed Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak in scandal, his attorney general said on Tuesday in a statement clearing Razak of corruption allegations.
Mohamed Apandi Ali said a review of evidence compiled by the country's anti-corruption agency showed that the money was a "personal donation from the Saudi royal family".
He gave no further details on the source.

MH370: Suitcase reportedly found on Reunion Island, close to where plane debris recovered
Remnants of a badly damaged suitcase have reportedly been found close to where plane debris, suspected of being part of missing Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370, has been recovered on Reunion Island.
Journalist Julien Delarue, who works for local paper Journal de L'île de la Réunion, reported on Twitter that what appears to be a suitcase has been found on the Indian Ocean island, less than a day after islanders discovered a two-metre long piece of debris.
The report included photographs of a man holding a badly damaged object that appeared to be a "suitcase on wheels" .... http://www.smh.com.au

The Obama administration will remove Malaysia from its official list of the world’s worst human trafficking offenders, according to Reuters, a move human rights advocates fear will damage U.S. credibility.
The maneuver would allow the administration to continue negotiating a controversial trade agreement with Malaysia and 10 other Pacific nations. Legislation authored by Sen. Jeff Wise, a U.S. science writer who spearheaded CNN’s coverage of the Boeing 777-200E, has based his outlandish theory on pings that the plane gave off for seven hours after it went missing, that were recorded by British telecommunications company Inmarsat.

MH370 shot down by US, says former airline CEO
The former director of French airline Proteus has suggested that a US military jet shot down Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 over the Indian Ocean to prevent it being used to attack an airbase on Diego Garcia.
Marc Dugain also said that he had been warned off delving too deeply into the fate of flight MH370 by a British intelligence officer who told him that he was taking "risks", according to France Inter.
The Independent reports that Dugain had travelled to the Maldives and interviewed witnesses "who reportedly told him they had seen a 'huge plane flying at a really low altitude' towards the island bearing the Malaysia Airlines colours"
According to the official account of MH370's final hours, the missing plane probably did make a sharp left turn to fly west towards the American base on the British territory of Diego Garcia soon after it lost radio contact with air traffic controllers .... http://www.theweek.co.uk

Russia ready to share evidence regarding MH17 crash with international investigation
MOSCOW, December 24. /TASS/. Russia’s Investigative Committee (IC) is prepared to share newly-discovered evidence regarding last summer’s Malaysian Boeing disaster in Ukraine with the international panel of inquiry, IC spokesman Vladimir Markin has told TASS.
“The Investigative Committee will continue to gather and analyze information about the disaster. If the international panel of inquiry probing into the case is really interested in establishing the truth and if it contacts us, we shall be prepared to share all evidence we have at our disposal,” Markin said.
The Ukrainian soldier who gave evidence on the crash of the Boeing passenger plane (Flight MH17) of Malaysia Airlines over eastern Ukraine is entitled to the witness protection program, Markin told TASS on Wednesday .... http://itar-tass.com

Russia’s Investigative Committee is investigating a Russian newspaper report alleging that a Ukrainian military jet shot down Malaysian Airlines passenger plane MH17 over the rebel-held eastern part of the country last summer.

The employee, who claims to be an eyewitness, said on July 17 that three Ukrainian combat jets took off, and that one of them, an Su-25, was carrying air-to-air missiles.
“After a while only one jet [of the three] returned, which had had those missiles… It returned without the missiles. The pilot was very frightened,” the man said. It was a Malaysian jet, carrying Malaysian passengers, flown by Malaysian pilots, yet after Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down over Ukraine in July 2014, Malaysia has been systematically blocked from participating in the investigation, leaving an overwhelmingly pro-NATO bloc in charge of the evidence, investigation and outcome as well as the manner in which the investigation will be carried out.

A new amateur video has surfaced showing the horrific aftermath of the Malaysia Airlines MH17 crash in eastern Ukraine, which killed all 298 people on board in July.
The cellphone footage was shot on July 17 in a field in the village of Hrabove, just minutes after the plane crashed.
