Autopsy: 22nd cold-related death in Cook County this season

The death of a 47-year-old woman in November has been determined to be cold-related, pushing the number of such deaths to 22 this season, officials said.

Juanita Kitchen, of the 7800 block of South Essex Avenue, was pronounced dead at 4:32 a.m. Nov. 28, 2014, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The woman was found on the 500 block of North Michigan Avenue at a bus stop, according to the office.

An autopsy determined that she died of arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and a secondary cause was determined to be hypothermia due to cold exposure .... http://www.chicagotribune.com
