Mark Zuckerberg's Harvard commencement speech included calls for a universal basic income and affordable childcare

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and chief executive of Facebook, has declared that the “struggle of our time” is against the forces of authoritarianism and nationalism, as he sets out a political agenda for a more equal, connected world.

“There is something wrong with our system when I can leave here and make billions of dollars in ten years, when millions of students can’t afford to pay off their loans, let alone start a business,” he said to a crowd of new graduates and their families gathered in the rain.

The speech will only increase speculation that Mr Zuckerberg harbours political — and even presidential — ambitions, as he advocated for the exploration of specific policies such as a universal basic income, affordable childcare and healthcare that is not tied to a single employer .... https://www.ft.com
