Carl Sagan: “Reincarnation Deserves Serious Study.” Years Later & The Results Are In

Sagan did not brush off the scientific study of these phenomena, in fact, he felt that some of them deserve “serious study.”

“There are claims in the parapsychology field which, in my opinion, deserve serious study,” with [one] being “that young children sometimes report details of a previous life, which upon checking turn out to be accurate and which they could not have known about in any other way than reincarnation.” (source) (1)

He also mentions two others. One is that, by thought alone, humans can affect random number generators in computers (you can read more about that here), and the other is that people under mild sensory deprivation can receive thoughts or images “projected” towards them (you can read more about that here) .... http://www.collective-evolution.com

The photograph shown here was distributed by the police department, according to theIndianapolis Star, which notes that "officials say the home was unoccupied at the time the photo was taken."

Why is that noted? Because there's a "figure" visible inside the enclosed porch. And there are 800 pages of official, local government reports on the strange happenings here.

Turkish Prime Ministry inspection board cites 'telekinesis' as possible cause of mysterious suicides

The report, presented to the Ankara Public Prosecutor in accordance with the ongoing investigation over the 2006-2007 suicides, claimed the victims could have been directed toward the suicides by way of telekinesis, citing the work done by neuropsychology expert Nevzat Tarhan.

Hüseyin Başbilen, an engineer at Turkey's military research and development enterprise, Aselsan, was found dead in his car on Aug. 7, 2006. A court ruled in 2009 that he committed suicide. Two other engineers working at Aselsan died shortly after Başbilen.

Halim Ünal was shot in the head with one bullet on Jan. 17, 2007, while Evrim Yançeken fell from the balcony of his sixth-floor apartment nine days later. Burhanettin Volkan allegedly killed himself in 2009.

Tarhan's study, included in the board's report, asked the prosecution not to disregard the possibility of telekinesis as a possible cause of the suicides, which could cause severe distress and headaches in the victims, giving them a tendency to kill themselves .... http://www.sott.net

It's a funnel cloud! It's a shadow! No, it's ... what is it?

Dunedin - Mike Weight was strolling the beach at Honeymoon Island about noon Wednesday when he saw something weird.

A black line appeared against the bright blue sky, shooting down from a cloud into the gulf.

"At first I thought it was an optical illusion because it was like a dark piece of sky with a light sky background," Weight said. "You could see through it."

Maybe it's a waterspout, he thought. That theory faded quickly. This was no funnel cloud.

Confused, the 73-year-old Clearwater resident pulled out his phone and took a couple of pictures.

He emailed them to the Times, attached with a note.

"Any idea what this was?" .... http://www.sott.net

Do Scientists Fear the Paranormal?

The question has been asked for decades: why haven’t psychic powers been proven yet? Psychics have been studied for decades, both in and out of the laboratory, yet the scientific community (and the public at large) remains unconvinced.

In a recent book, “Science & Psychic Phenomena: The Fall of the House of Skeptics,” author Chris Carter insists that the reason that psychic powers have not been proven is because scientists are unaware of the research or refuse to take it seriously because “Clearly many scientists find the claims of parapsychology disturbing.”

This is a common charge leveled against skeptics and scientists: that they refuse to acknowledge the existence of paranormal phenomenon (psychic abilities, ghosts, etc.) because it would somehow challenge or “disturb” their worldview .... http://www.livescience.com
