Pentagon ‘Kiss’ Training Costs Over $2,000 Per Hour

The U.S. Air Force is paying Mike Domitrz $2,222 an hour to teach airmen when it’s OK to kiss on a date.

Domitrz, a speaker who has published books on relationships and survivors of sexual assault, will present three sessions titled “May I Kiss You?” to airmen, according to a report today in The Washington Free Beacon.

In a contract awarded by Dyess Air Force Base, outside Abilene, Tex., the Air Force will pay Domritz’s company, the Data Safe Project, $10,000 for three 60 to 90 minute sessions — approximately $2,222.22 per hour if all three sessions run the full 90 minutes .... http://www.bizpacreview.com

It is actually illegal in Colorado to collect the rain that falls on your home

Do you live in Colorado? Does it rain on your house? Do the drops patter off the roof, compose romantic puddles on your porch?

Guess what: That water isn’t yours. You can’t have it. And you most certainly cannot set out a tank to catch what falls from the sky, you thief.

Water laws are so strict in Colorado that rainwater collection is virtually prohibited. The doctrine is written into the state’s Constitution. All the rain is already spoken for. It belongs to someone, and that someone probably isn’t you. So don’t you touch it.

“The rain barrel is the bong of the Colorado garden,” local columnist Dave Philipps wrote in 2007. “It’s legal to sell one. It’s legal to own one. It’s just not legal to use it for its intended purpose.” .... http://www.washingtonpost.com

Wonga will not face criminal investigation over fake legal letters sent to 45,000 customers because police say there is 'not enough evidence'

Wonga will not be prosecuted despite sending bullying letters from fake law firms to threaten 45,000 customers who were behind on repayments, police said today.

The payday lender was ordered last year to pay more than £2.6million in compensation to people who received the bogus demands.

But City of London Police said today that, after a 'thorough review', it has concluded 'there is not sufficient evidence to progress a criminal investigation'.

Consumer groups and politicians believed there was clear evidence of a criminal deception and insist the police should have pursued them through the courts .... http://www.dailymail.co.uk

Snowpocalypse: How Global Warming Creates Gargantuan Blizzards (It says here)

Severe winter storm events often prompt naysayers to mock, “Where’s that global warming?” But while the concept may seem to conflict with rising global temperatures, these storms are actually obvious evidence of man-made climate change.

Climate change, say scientists, fuels the increasing intensities of winter storms. Warmer temperatures allow the atmosphere to hold more moisture and create heavier than normal precipitation.

Climatologists agree that global warming will continue to make these storms worse over time .... http://www.alternet.org

Snow causes travel chaos across the UK with roads blocked, a car breaking down every TWO SECONDS and runways closed - and there's plenty more still to come

A red Ford Focus smashed into the front of a house in Sheffield today on icy roads as drivers were told to expect delays after the AA and RAC warned of one breakdown every two seconds.

Hundreds of passengers at Leeds Bradford airport were facing delays and cancellations this morning after snow forced the airport to close, while snow was also reported at Stansted. On the roads, there were heavy delays on the M20 in Kent after an accident which hit the morning rush hour .... http://www.dailymail.co.uk

On the Davos agenda: from Al Gore on global warming to fears over eurozone

Snow on the roofs of the ski chalets at the upmarket ski resort may be one of the defining images of Davos, but it will be the warming of the planet that is at the top of the issues under discussion at the World Economic Forum.

In the kind of speaking double act beloved of the event’s organisers, Al Gore, the former US vice-president, who has described climate change as “the biggest challenge our civilisation faces”, will discuss the subject alongside Pharrell Williams .... http://www.theguardian.com

‘Diabolical & absurd’: Outrage as Save the Children gives Tony Blair Global Legacy Award

The former Labour leader, who is currently a key focus of a public inquiry into Britain’s invasion of Iraq, received the honor on Wednesday night at a star-studded gala hosted by the charity in New York.

Save the Children’s decision to offer Blair the award has provoked outrage across the UK, with critics insisting the move utterly discredits the charity .... http://rt.com/uk

Global warming ‘will make the coming winters colder’

Britain can expect twice as many severe winters as usual over the coming decades, according to a study supporting the counterintuitive idea that global warming could lead to colder weather in some parts of the world.

Climate scientists believe they have found evidence to suggest that the loss of floating Arctic sea ice in the Barents and Kara seas north of Scandinavia can affect the global circulation of air currents and lead to bitterly cold winds blowing for extended periods in winter over Central Asia and Europe, including the UK .... http://www.independent.co.uk

Netanyahu uses Derek Jeter analogy while talking about terrorism

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the United Nations General Assembly Monday, comparing his country's recent bombing campaign in Gaza to the U.S.-led strikes against militants in Iraq and Syria, saying Hamas and the Islamic State group share the same goal of world domination.

While he railed against countries who condemned Israel for its war with Hamas while praising President Barack Obama for attacking Islamic State militants and other extremists.

And Netanyahu managed to incorporate a Derek Jeter analogy into his speech.

"To say that Iran doesn't practice terrorism is like saying Derek Jeter never played shortstop for the New York Yankees," he said .... http://politics.suntimes.com

This Map Shows Why The F-35 Has Turned Into A Trillion-Dollar Fiasco

The Pentagon has stuck with the F-35 Lightning Joint Strike Fighter program despite dozens of technical problems and delays, strategic concerns, and massive cost overruns that have nearly doubled the initial cost estimate, raising the cost of building the planes to around $400 billion with a lifetime cost of up to $1.5 trillion.

One reason why the project has become such a boondoggle is that many states and countries are significantly invested in the plane, relying on its production for income and jobs.

Every U.S. state but Alaska, Hawaii, Nebraska, and Wyoming has economic ties to the F-35, with 18 states counting on the project for $100 million or more in economic activity, according to primary contractor Lockheed Martin. All told, the project is supposedly responsible for 32,500 jobs in the U.S. Globally, another nine countries have major ties to the F-35 .... http://www.businessinsider.com

David Cameron likens Russia’s actions in Ukraine to the aggression against Belgium and Poland that sparked the world wars

David Cameron compared Russia’s hostility towards Ukraine with the build-up to the two world wars last night, as he warned economic sanctions could get tougher.

The Prime Minister likened the situation to Belgium and Poland ‘being trampled on’ before wars broke out in Europe last century.

Speaking to voters in Warrington, he said: ‘This year we are commemorating the 100th anniversary of the First World War, and that war in part was about the right of a small country, Belgium, not to be trampled on by its neighbours.’ .... http://www.dailymail.co.uk

UK: Don’t waste your money on organic food: Government says frozen vegetables are just as nutritious

Cash-strapped families should not waste their money on organic food because they think it is healthier, the government has warned.

Shoppers should instead spend their money on whatever they can afford, even if it means eating tinned or frozen vegetables which are in no way ‘nutritionally inferior’.

The government now faces calls to end £20million of subsidies to organic farming, which owes ‘more to myth than evidence’ .... http://www.dailymail.co.uk

‘Paedophilia is natural and normal for males’

”Paedophilic interest is natural and normal for human males,” said the presentation. “At least a sizeable minority of normal males would like to have sex with children … Normal males are aroused by children.”

Some yellowing tract from the Seventies or early Eighties, era of abusive celebrities and the infamous PIE, the Paedophile Information Exchange? No. Anonymous commenters on some underground website? No again.

The statement that paedophilia is “natural and normal” was made not three decades ago but last July. It was made not in private but as one of the central claims of an academic presentation delivered, at the invitation of the organisers, to many of the key experts in the field at a conference held by the University of Cambridge .... http://www.telegraph.co.uk

Unprecedented: professor fired for questioning global warming

The climate zealots have started threatening the academics who come out in public to question the “settled science” of climate change without having any proper evidence to prove their claim.

They are intimidating academics who claim against the “settled science” without any evidence by sacking them from their positions.

The latest to fall prey to the climate McCarthyism is Dr. Caleb Rossiter who was fired through email as an “Associate Fellow” from the progressive group Institute for Policy Studies (IPS). He was “terminated” because of his May 4th, 2014 Wall Street Journal OpEd, “Sacrificing Africa for Climate Change,” in which he said that man-made global warming was an “unproved science.” .... http://nvonews.com
