The widow of grunge rock icon Chris Cornell on Friday insisted he did not intentionally kill himself, saying the recovering addict's judgment may have been impaired by prescription drugs.
Wayne County's medical examiner ruled the death a suicide. But his widow, Vicky Karayiannis Cornell, said the 52-year-old gave no indication he wanted to die.

DETROIT (WWJ) – Rocker Chris Cornell, frontman for Soundgarden and Audioslave, died following a sold out show at the Fox Theatre in Detroit.
A police source talking to WWJ Newsradio 950 Thursday morning said the 52-year-old singer-songwriter was found in the bathroom of his room at the MGM Grand Detroit hotel, after apparently taking his own life.

New York (AFP) - Rock legend David Bowie's former apartment in New York, complete with views of Central Park and his piano, is up for sale for $6.5 million.
Bowie and his model wife Iman lived in the apartment from 1992 to 2002 when they moved to the more bohemian Soho neighborhood, where the rocker died last year after a secret battle with cancer.

John Lennon's killer Mark Chapman has been denied parole for a ninth time.
Chapman, 61, shot the former Beatles star in New York in 1980. He told the parole board he now accepted his crime was "premeditated, selfish and evil".
But they told him: "In spite of many favourable factors, we find all to be outweighed by the premeditated and celebrity seeking nature of the crime."

Michael Jackson underage sex collection
Michael Jackson was found to have a sizable collection of pornographic material at his Neverland Ranch in 2003 according to police reports cataloging the property following a search of the residence.
Many of these books and videos are also detailed in court papers from the time, submitted after a young boy came forward claiming that he had been sexually abused and assaulted by the singer on multiple occasions.
The police report claims that in Jackson's bedroom and bathroom alone there were at least seven collections of work found by investigators that show boys in their teenage years - and in some cases younger - fully nude or partially clothed.

Israel says Elton John not forced to declare loyalty
Israel has rejected as “delusional” a claim that superstar Elton John was asked to declare loyalty to the Jewish state before an upcoming concert.
The “Rocket Man” singer’s Israeli concert organizer Shuki Weiss issued the claim on Monday, saying the Interior Ministry initially made the demand as a condition for getting a visa.

Eagles of Death Metal frontman says he thinks Paris theater attack was an inside job
The frontman of the band whose concert turned into a bloodbath in Paris has suggested the attack was an inside job, saying he was suspicious of the club's security guards.
Jesse Hughes, the singer and guitarist of Eagles of Death Metal, said he immediately felt uneasy when setting up for the November 13 show as a guard in charge of the backstage area at the Bataclan club did not make eye contact.
As the California rockers were playing, assailants opened fire and threw grenades to kill 90 people, the deadliest in a series of coordinated attacks around Paris claimed by the Islamic State group that left a total of 130 dead and 350 injured, many seriously.

US environmentalists take legal action to stop U2 guitarist The Edge’s Malibu mansions project
America’s oldest and largest grassroots environmental organization, Sierra Club, has filed a lawsuit to stop a member of one of the world’s most popular rock bands, U2, going ahead with plans to build five mansions on a Malibu hilltop.
U2 lead guitarist, The Edge, was granted approval for the project, which includes a consortium of four other Irish investors, by the California Coastal Commission (CCC) last month after an almost decade-long battle.
The Edge, whose real name is David Evans, bought the 156 acre plot of land in 2005. In 2011 the project was blocked by the CCC, eight votes to four, citing concerns from environmentalists that the mansions would be an eyesore on the coastline.

New York City Declares 'Bowie Day' on January 20
New York City has official declared January 20 "David Bowie Day" in honor of the late musician.
The announcement was made on Bowie's Facebook page. Mayor Bill de Blasio is scheduled to endorse the statement at the curtain call of Lazarus, the Off-Broadway musical co-produced by Bowie before his death.
New York follows in the footsteps of Chicago, which was the first city to declare a "Bowie Day" on September 23, back in 2014.
Bowie was a New York resident for the last 20 years of his life. Following his death on January 10, fans left flowers and personal tributes outside of his SoHo apartment, where he settled with his wife, Iman, in 1999 .... http://www.out.com

Scientists have registered a constellation shaped like a lightning bolt in honour of David Bowie and his out-of-this-world talent
David Bowie has been given his own constellation, consisting of seven stars that shine in the shape of the lightning bolt.
Belgian astronomers announced the registration of the constellation, which appropriately sits in the vicinity of Mars, following the artist’s death last week.
It is a fitting homage to Bowie, who used the universe as a key inspiration throughout his career. Bowie first found success with the single Space Oddity and later crafted the persona Ziggy Stardust, an extra-terrestrial rockstar. His hits also included Starman and Life on Mars.

Vevo, which provides videos licensed by music labels on YouTube and other platforms, said Bowie's videos scored 51 million views on Monday, the day his death was announced.
It marked Vevo's highest number of views ever in a single day for an artist's catalog, wresting the record from fellow British artist Adele, whose videos were seen 36 million times on October 23 when she released her long-awaited song "Hello." .... http://news.yahoo.com
